Droopy puffy eyelids can often develop as we age. Patients notice that their eyelids begin to sag or look hooded making the eyes look less open. They may also notice increased wrinkling in the eye corners and fine lines appear over the eyelids.
Overall patients can feel that their eyes begin to appear older, aged and tired. Sometimes, hooded eyes can begin to feel heavy and patients notice their eyesight has changed.

Upper Eyelid Blepharoplasty
Upper eyelid blepharoplasty surgery is frequently performed to help remove excess upper eyelid skin and wrinkles, treating eyelids that have begun to look hooded or tired.
The results are to rejuvenate the puffy eyelids, giving them a smoother and more defined appearance. The overall effect is to help you return to a more youthful and fresher appearance.
What to expect
Blepharoplasty surgery is painless and patients can expect to go home the same day.
Surgery is planned with our patients and together we can advise how much excess, baggy skin to remove and whether any fat needs to be removed at the same time.
The blepharoplasty incision is very fine and made along the skin crease. In this way, scar formation is minimal and healing is quick and efficient.
The surgery is usually conducted with local anaesthetic and takes between one to three hours to perform.
Recovery from Upper Eyelid Blepharoplasty Surgery
Dressings are applied after surgery and these can be removed the next day. Stitches are removed between five and ten days later. Usually, most of the swelling and bruising settles over a week or two, though the eyelids continue to settle over a few weeks.
